The village has a fine church, shop and pub (with excellent food). It offers a base to visit the Somerset Levels, the scenic Dorset countryside of Thomas Hardy, many National Trust properties (Montacute, Tintinull, Barrington, Lytes Cary and Stourhead) and classic gardens(Hestercombe and Forde Abbey). <b>Garden Cottage stands in the centre of the village in a conservation area.</b> No expense is spared in keeping the cottages in excellent decorative order.
